Shelby Realty Services is committed to making our property websites usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or other assistive technology. Housing information should be available to every buyer, and we treat that as a requirement rather than a feature.

The standard we work to

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. In practice, on these listing pages, that means:

• •Every photograph and map carries descriptive alternative text.
• •The whole page can be operated by keyboard, and the focused element is always visible.
• •Headings are real headings, in order, so a screen reader can navigate by structure.
• •Every form field has a label that is programmatically attached to it.
• •Text meets contrast requirements against its background.
• •The layout reflows to narrow screens and to enlarged text without loss of content.
• •Videos are optional to play and never start with sound.

Display options

Every page carries a Display options control in the footer, offering larger text, higher contrast, and reduced motion. If your device already asks for reduced motion, this site follows that setting without you having to change anything.

We deliberately do not use an accessibility overlay widget. Overlays are widely reported by the people who rely on assistive technology to interfere with the tools they already use, and they do not make an inaccessible site accessible. We would rather fix the page.

Where we know we fall short

Some content on these pages comes from our multiple listing service and from third-party sources, including listing photographs, embedded maps, and property data. We do not control how that content is produced, and some of it — a photograph with no meaningful description from the source, or an embedded map — may not fully meet the standard above. We are working on the parts we control and will keep this page updated.

If something here does not work for you

Please tell us, and we will get you the information another way — by phone, by email, or in person at any of our offices. You do not need to explain why, and there is no wrong way to ask.
