What your account stores

What we keep

• Your email address, when you first signed in, when you were last here, and whether the weekly email is on or off.
• Sign-in links and sessions. Each link we mail you is stored as a hash, works once, and expires in twenty minutes. A session is stored the same way, keeps you signed in on that browser for up to a hundred and eighty days, and ends when you sign out.
• Homes you saved — the listing number, when you saved it, and the price and status it had at the time, so we can tell you when either changes.
• Searches you saved — the search itself, whether you asked for email about it, which listings we have already told you about, and when you last opened it. A saved search is kept against your email address, so it also works without an account.
• Whether you are an agent. If your address is on this office’s roster, the account is marked as an agent’s and opens the agent tools. That mark is set from the roster at sign-in, never from a form.

What we do not keep

• No password, ever.
• No card, bank, or payment details — nothing here is for sale.
• No browsing history tied to you. Views on listing pages are counted for sellers with a hash that changes every day and is not connected to any account.

Who can see it

Your saved homes and searches are shown to you, on this site, when you are signed in. They are also shared with the Shelby Realty agent whose listing you saved: when you save a home, that listing’s agent is told your email address, the other homes you have saved with us, and the searches you keep alerts on, so they can follow up on what you are actually looking for. Agents see the people watching their own listings, not every account on the site. When you send a question through a form on a listing, that message — and the name, email, and phone you put in it — goes to the listing agent or the office, the same as it would without an account. Nothing here is sold or shared outside the brokerage.

Email you might get

• A sign-in link, when you ask for one.
• A weekly summary of new matches for your saved searches and changes to the homes you saved — only in a week where there is something to say. Never an empty one. It is on by default and switched off in one click from any of them, or from your account page.
• A note for any saved search you turned email on for individually, on a day something new matches it. While the weekly summary is on, those go in the summary instead.

Deleting the account

From your account page, at the bottom. It removes the account, its sign-in history, and the homes you saved, immediately. Saved searches are kept unless you tick the box to remove those too — someone may want to stop being an account holder and still hear about forty acres near Sullivan.
