What a parcel page shows, and where it comes from

The boundary is approximate — the same lines the county's own map shows, drawn over aerial imagery. It is a reference, not a survey. The record is the assessor's: acreage, property class, township, and the assessed value the county taxes on. The sales are the transfer declarations recorded with the county when a deed is filed (Illinois form PTAX-203), arm's-length sales only; the county's record we hold begins in 2017 (Effingham, 2013).

What a parcel page never shows: the owner's name, and any estimate of value. Both are deliberate. If you want to know what a parcel would bring, ask — that is what the form at the bottom of every page is for.
